ABOUT

ME

S1807979.jpeg
I am dedicated to helping people on their personal journey of development and recovery.
Together, we explore how to feel belonging, autonomy, mastery and independence.

I believe in empowering and encouraging my clients. I believe in being apart of my clients' processes of uncovering unique strengths and abilities.

Our voyages through life are intertwined with those of our families, friends and communities; I take a broad view of clients' challenges and successes.

Trauma & Addiction

I provide drug and alcohol counselling and group facilitation with adults and youth. I focus on somatic experiencing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, emotional regulation, distress tolerance skills, mindfulness training, and relapse prevention.

Part of my philosophy as a counsellor is advocating for my clients. This means liaising with medical, legal and mental health professionals, and family members. To support my clients in their recovery I also liaise with community resources and not-for-profit societies.

Families & Couples

I work with couples and families to support healthy communication, self-development, processing and healing trauma and emotional maturity. To facilitate maintainable growth and discovery, we work with numerous

in-session and at-home interventions and practices.

Open Studios

Open studios are a safe space where individuals can freely express themselves with the support of a trained art-therapist. We work with a spirit of radical hospitality; a welcoming, accepting stance that nourishes the whole person- mind body and soul.

The Artist's Way

I facilitate Creative Clusters, a group based on Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way (1992).

This group supports individuals towards creative recovery and personal growth and expansion. We combine artistic expression, meditations, grounding exercises and sharing of successes and challenges.

My Relationship To Art Making

In my personal life, I have worked with art and creativity as part of my own healing. I stumbled upon the power that creativity has in deepening self-discovery, integration of challenges and releasing the hold of difficult memories and emotions. I have also found how art welcomes in joy, experimentation, self-worth and courageousness.
